Top 20 Rewards: Official Rules

Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not sponsors of and are not involved in this promotion in any manner. No purchase or payment is necessary to take part or to win. A purchase does not improve your chance of winning.

The Top 20 Rewards ("the promotion") are sponsored by {{DEVELOPER_LEGAL_NAME}}, {{POSTAL_ADDRESS}}, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} ("the sponsor", "we"), the developer of CapTheFlag.

2. Type of promotion

This is a free, ongoing game of skill. Ranking depends only on quiz performance: correct answers, answer speed and game mode. There is no entry fee, no random draw and no element of chance in selecting winners.

3. Who can take part

  • Anyone who may use CapTheFlag under the Terms of Use (13 or older) and who plays while signed in with Apple or Google. Guest (anonymous) accounts are not ranked and cannot win.
  • The account must be in good standing and must not break the fair-play rules in the Terms of Use.
  • The sponsor, and people who work on the app with access to the scoring system, cannot win.
  • Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

4. How to take part

Sign in and play any game mode. Each completed round is scored and checked by our server, and your best round counts automatically. There is no separate entry step.

5. How ranking works

  • Each correct answer scores 1,000 points multiplied by a speed bonus (faster answers score more, minimum 10%) and a mode bonus (1.5x for Hero, 2x for God). Wrong answers score 0.
  • Your leaderboard score is your best single-round score ever, across all modes.
  • The leaderboard is recalculated about every 5 minutes.
  • If two or more players have the same best score, they are ordered as shown on the leaderboard at the time of the daily check (section 6).
  • Only scores accepted by our server count. We may exclude scores we reasonably believe were not achieved through fair play.

6. The reward

  • Once a day, we check the global leaderboard. Each player ranked 1 to 20 at that moment receives, or has renewed, ad-free Premium on their account.
  • The reward lasts while you remain in the top 20 and ends no later than 7 days after the last daily check at which you were in the top 20.
  • Ad-free Premium removes all ads from the app. It has an approximate retail value equal to the store price of the Remove Ads purchase (currently {{REMOVE_ADS_PRICE_REFERENCE}}).
  • The reward has no cash value, cannot be exchanged, transferred or sold, and does not become a permanent Remove Ads purchase. If you already bought Remove Ads, your purchase is unaffected.
  • You do not need to claim the reward. It is applied automatically to your account. Your profile shows when it is active.
  • The sponsor may substitute a reward of equal or greater value if the original cannot be provided.

7. Disqualification

We may disqualify a player, remove scores and withdraw a reward if we reasonably believe the player cheated (for example with bots, modified apps, tampered requests or multiple accounts), exploited a bug, or broke the Terms of Use. You can contest a decision by emailing {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}.

8. Personal data and publicity

Your generated username, best score, games played, accuracy, rank and Top 20 status are shown publicly on the leaderboard. We use your user ID and scores to run the promotion and pass your user ID to RevenueCat to apply the reward. We do not publish your email or real name. See the Privacy Policy.

9. Taxes

Winners are responsible for any taxes that apply to the reward under their local law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the sponsor is not responsible for technical failures, network or server outages, errors in score recording or ranking, or a delay in applying a reward. If an error affects rankings, we may correct the leaderboard and rewards. Nothing in these rules limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes and ending the promotion

We may change, suspend or end the promotion, for example to stop abuse or because of a legal requirement. We will update these rules and the effective date, and tell players in the app. Rewards already active when the promotion ends run until their end date.

12. Governing law

These rules are governed by {{GOVERNING_LAW}}. Your mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence are not affected.
